Historic Qilou Streets
Historic Qilou Street, one of China’s first batch of Famous Historical and Cultural Streets, is the largest and best-preserved Nanyang-style arcade architectural complex in China, stretching along Deshengsha Road, Zhongshan Road and Bo’ai Road with nearly 600 arcade buildings in total. Most of these two-to-five-story buildings were constructed by overseas Chinese returning from Southeast Asia from the 1920s to the 1940s, blending Chinese traditional carved patterns, European Baroque facades and Southeast Asian decorative features. The covered continuous colonnades adopt the classic "shops downstairs, residences upstairs" layout, sheltering pedestrians from intense sunshine and rain. Scattered with Tianhou Palace, the site of the First Qiongya Congress of the CPC and time-honored local food shops, the old street retains vivid century-old port commercial atmosphere and rich overseas Chinese folk customs, where visitors can experience authentic Haikou humanistic fireworks and cross-cultural architectural aesthetics.

Leiqiong UNESCO Global Geopark
Leiqiong UNESCO Global Geopark is China’s only UNESCO-certified tropical urban volcanic geopark, formed by volcanic eruptions tens of thousands of years ago. Covering an area of 186 square kilometers, it preserves more than 40 complete volcanic cones and over 30 lava tunnels, covering almost all types of basalt volcanoes on earth. Ma’an Ridge, the core scenic spot, features intact crater landforms surrounded by dense tropical rainforests, and ancient villages built entirely with black volcanic stone have stood here for over 800 years. Standing on the crater viewing platform, visitors can overlook the whole Haikou urban area and the blue Qiongzhou Strait. Integrating unique volcanic geology, primitive ecological landscapes and local stone village culture, the geopark is a natural volcanic science museum and a top leisure destination for geological sightseeing.
